Birnam Wood Siding & Bridge Replacement Phase 4

Construction work will continue at Birnam Wood for siding and bridge replacement (stack 7); pedestrian pathways & landscaping upgrades throughout the complex.

When: May 18 - Oct 1, 2026.

Work Hours: 

  • Monday through Friday: 7:30am – 6:00pm (noise begins at 9am)

Where: Stack 7 (siding & bridge work), pathways and landscaping work around the complex

Impacts:

  • Contractors will mitigate noise, dust, odors, and other construction impacts as much as possible. During finals week, noise work will be reduced.
  • Work areas will be fenced off. Pedestrian detours will be posted.
  • Construction areas are considered danger zones; exercise caution and observe posted signage.
  • Sidewalks will be used by Contractors and occupants; be alert to activities outside the work areas.
  • Balconies at Stack 7 will be closed during the project; DO NOT OPEN PATIO DOORS. Remove all items from your balcony BEFORE MAY 15. Keep windows closed and have blinds drawn for privacy.
  • ACCESS TO BALCONIES IS PROHIBITED (doors will be secured in closed position). Tampering with Contractor door controls is NOT allowed and infractions will be assessed in accordance with UR Community Standards.
  • Parking lot and driveways (especially near Stacks 3 and 7) will be used to support material deliveries between 8:00am to 5:00pm. Move vehicles to avoid periodic long delays.

Past Projects

Construction work will continue at Birnam Wood to complete the parking lot and replace building cladding (siding) system and pedestrian bridges.

When: Sept 1 - Oct 5, 2025

Work Hours: 

  • Monday through Friday: 7:30am – 6:30pm (noise begins at 8am, 7am at stack 2)

Where: Parking lot 27R & exterior siding/bridge work at Birnam Wood

Impacts:

  • Work areas will be fenced off. Pedestrian detours will be posted; please follow signage for safety.
  • Construction areas are considered danger zones; exercise caution and observe posted signage.
  • Bridges at stacks 1 and 2 will be closed during sidewalk replacement work.
  • Balconies at stacks 5 and 6 will be closed as appropriate until siding work is done. Keep balcony side windows closed, have shades drawn for privacy. Access to balconies is prohibited (doors strapped closed). Do not attempt to open; contractor will remove straps when access and use is safe.
  • Contractors mitigate noise, dust, odors + other construction impacts as much as possible.

Parking will be temporarily unavailable in sections of the Birnam Wood parking lot for light pole installation. Please see the parking lot map for more information.

Where: Work will be done at Birnam Wood Parking Lot (PL27R) from Stack 7 to Bill McDonald Pkwy; for more information on parking, please see PDF below. Some sections of the parking lot will be closed of for construction & for contractor parking. Please follow signage. Portion of parking lot indicated in pink on the PDF map is open for resident parking (with valid parking permit).
