Summer Housing 2025
University Residences offers summer housing to continuing campus residents, students attending WWU Summer Session, and students attending summer programs at local community colleges (WWU login required to apply). Minimum stay for academic residents is three weeks.

Who Can Apply?
Summer residents must meet one of the following requirements:
- Are registered for at least 5 summer credits at WWU or another local college (WWU login required to apply)
- Are doing an internship or field work for WWU
- Living on campus for both spring quarter AND the 2025-2026 academic year
- Employed by University Residences or Dining Services
Residents who wish to stay All Summer must meet these additional requirements:
- Confirmed 2025-26 on-campus housing
- Available for mandatory move from summer to fall assignment on September 8, 2025
Summer Intersession Housing (June 14-21 & Aug 22-Sept 18)
Only available for current 2024-2025 residents in addition to your contracted length of stay. If you need intersession housing, be sure to indicate so on the application.
Room assignments during intersession are typically the same as your summer housing assignment if you live in the summer building that is open, but some residents may be assigned to a temporary location until summer locations become available.

1. Apply for Summer Housing
Apply in the MyHousing portal. Be ready to choose your building and room type. If you need intersession housing, select that as well. Take a roommate survey and accept the Summer Housing Agreement. Applicants will be prompted to pay the $200 housing prepayment to secure your spot.

Due by June 1
2. Pay Housing Prepayment
When notice of prepayment due posts in MyHousing, follow the payment instructions to carefully ensure proper processing of your housing prepayment. The $200 secures your spot in summer housing and will be applied to your summer charges.

3. Assignment Posted
Room assignments are posted in MyHousing, along with roommate and suitemate information. You are encouraged to contact your roommate to get acquainted and plan what to bring.
Living Options
Buchanan Towers & Alma Clark Glass Hall
Summer 2025 Housing will be available in Buchanan Towers & Alma Clark Glass Hall.
- Meal plans are optional for Buchanan Towers
- Max stay is nine-week session (unless eligible for all-summer option)
Maximum Stay
9 week session, ends Friday, August 22 (unless you are eligible for all-summer option).
All Summer
Summer residents who have confirmed 2025-2026 academic year housing are eligible to remain in housing until the start of fall quarter. This contract option is available on the housing application.
Room Occupancy
Double rooms are available for Summer Housing. Some single occupancy rooms may be available, please contact Housing for more information.
Mandatory Moves
You will receive an email with instructions prior to your mandatory move date. Plan ahead for mandatory moves. If you leave campus and are not available during your required move date, your belongings will be boxed and stored, and your room will be rekeyed - all at your expense.
Spring to Summer Assignment
Mandatory Move Date: June 15 or June 20, 2025, depending on current spring assignment
If you are a current resident staying for summer & signed up for summer intersession* (June 14-21), you are required to move from your spring assignment to your summer assignment when spring quarter ends. Please see the table below to determine your spring to summer move date based on your current assignment:

*If you did not sign up for summer intersession housing, you will need to be moved out of your current assignment by 4pm on Friday, June 13. You may move into your summer assignment on Sunday, June 22.
Summer to Fall Assignment
Expected Mandatory Move Date: September 8, 2025 for all residents
If you are an all-summer resident, you are required to move from your summer assignment to your fall assignment* when the 9-week summer session ends. Be ready to move to your fall assignment on Monday, September 8, 2025. *If your summer and fall assignment is the same, you will not need to move.

Note: Meal plans are optional for summer 2025 Buchanan Towers residents and required for Clark Glass residents.
Calculation of Rates:
- Rooms are based on a nightly rate. For example, the 6-week session is 40 nights (June 22-Aug 1); the 9-week session is 61 nights (June 22-Aug 22); "All Summer" is 96 nights (June 14-Sept 18).
- Meal plans are based on a daily rate
- Meals and Dining Dollar charges are prorated based on the number of days the contract is held. Meal plan use greater than the pro-rate amount will be billed to the student's account.
Payment Due Dates:
- Summer payments are due by June 24, 2025. Last day to pay without a late fee is July 15, 2025 (at close of business day).
If You Need to Cancel
- Cancel before June 1 to be refunded your $200 prepayment.
- Send your cancellation in writing, with your name and student ID, to housing@wwu.edu.
