Sigma offers five floors of excitement, and is a part of the larger SHADO community, which consists of Sigma, Highland, Alpha, Delta, and Omega. The hall houses residents in single, double and triple rooms off of interior hallways, and a community bathroom that serves the students of the same gender living on each floor.
Each building in SHADO has one comfortable lounge with a large screen TV and smaller lounge spaces for studying or gathering in small groups. There are foosball tables, pool tables and Ping-Pong tables scattered throughout the community, as well as small kitchenettes equipped with sinks, a stove, an oven and a microwave. Sigma features a main lounge with a fireplace and piano, and a pool table in an adjacent room. A TV lounge and small study lounge are also available to Sigma residents.
A location atop the hill between north and south campus means that classes, the rec-center, the library, and just about everything else is a short walk downhill from the Ridge. SHADO offers its residents a smaller more personal community within each building, but also a sense of a larger community shared between its five buildings, where residents can get involved in multiple activities and find other residents with common interests.
Within each building, SHADO residents enjoy a close-knit community feeling as well as the opportunity to interact regularly with other halls in the area through programming, recreation, and involvement.
Residents are also able to participate in the active Community Council, which sponsors such events as trips to the local SportsPlex, a 'Festivus for the Rest of Us,' dances, and many other programs.
