The Ridgeway is set up on a hill overlooking central campus. This puts it only a few minutes from most classrooms. The residents of the Ridge are very close to the Ridgeway Commons dining hall and just a few minutes walk from the Wade King Rec Center.

Beta is part of the larger Beta-Gamma community. It is a non-traditional style hall, housing residents in four room suites of double rooms that share a bathroom. Beta's suite-style living environment lends itself to the easy development of tight friendships among suitemates. Each room in Beta has its own exterior door; this unique design resembles a mountain chalet among the trees. Located between north and south campus, the Ridge is closest to the Rec Center and just uphill from the library, Red Square and most everything else on campus.

All stacks of Beta will be renovated by the end of summer 2012, with new flooring, windows, fixtures and furniture.

Beta Stack 8 has two lounges, one with a kitchenette, and one with a big screen TV and piano. Beta residents also have access to the lounges located in Gamma Stack 3. Laundry facilities are one floor down from each respective lounge, and a sauna in Beta is also open to residents of the Beta-Gamma community. A small indoor bike storage area as well as outdoor bike storage is available.

Activities

Beta-Gamma residents are encouraged to become active members of their residence hall, Beta-Gamma community, as well as the larger campus community. The staff works to provide opportunities for service learning, leadership development, and continued learning opportunities on issues of interest to an upper-class population (ex. scholarships, resume writing, internships, Peace Corp, women's issues, politics, and faculty interaction to name a few).

Elective Living Environments

ALCOHOL-FREE: Stacks 5 and 6 of Beta are designated as alcohol-free, for students who make a commitment to refrain from using or supporting the use of alcohol while in residence. This type of environment gives students an opportunity to live with others who have made a similar commitment.
