Edens Hall is part of a set of three distinct buildings that make up one community on the north end of campus called Edens-Higginson. Edens houses residents in double and triple rooms within suites of two rooms connected by a common bathroom. Rooms are accessed from interior corridors, with a second-floor outdoor courtyard forming the core of the U-shaped building.
The courtyard offers a great space for hosting events such as BBQs or outdoor programs. Events can also be hosted in the large main lounge and adjacent kitchen that is shared with Edens North. The lounge has a grand piano, a pool table, and a fireplace, and provides residents with ample space to study and relax. A TV room and laundry facilities are also shared with Edens North. Indoor bike storage is located near the front desk.
One of the great things about Edens-Higginson is the variety of features that the community has to offer. In Edens Hall you will find suite style rooms with many of the honors students living together, over in Edens North you'll find the kitchen, great lounge for events or studying. Higginson has some of the best lounges on campus and great balcony views of Bellingham, especially at night!
The Edens-Higginson community sponsors two large events each year. The first is the Edens Morgue, an event in the Fall where Edens Hall is converted into haunted house for the university community to visit. The second is the Higginson Festival of Music (or HIG FoM), which occurs in the Spring. Student and other local musicians are showcased in this event.
HONORS PROGRAM: The Honors Program Community is located in Edens Hall. Living with other Honors students in this cluster fosters a strong sense of community, provides a network of peers who have shared experiences both in hall and in the classroom and offers students unique programming.
