I am originally from Columbus, Ohio and have also lived in Indiana, Idaho and Colorado prior to moving to Washington in 1999 to work at Western. I am a graduate of Bowling Green State University (B.A.C.) and Colorado State University (M.S.). My wife, Kaela, is an elementary school teacher in Ferndale, WA. We have 4 children: Isaac (21) - a student at Bellingham Technical College, Hannah (19) - a sophomore at WWU, Joshua (15), and Ella (13). I like to camp, play and watch soccer, listen to live music, watch movies, and play board/card games.
