The 2021-22 academic year is coming to a close and what a historically strange year it has been. The success we shared in keeping the WWU Housing community safe was because of the commitment from all of our residents this past year. Thank you for your commitment to keeping our community a safe place to live.

Please read the important move out information to avoid unnecessary charges and ensure a smoother move-out process.

Start Packing Now

Don’t wait until final’s week to start packing and cleaning! If you start early and pack a little bit each day, it will make your checkout much easier.

Tip: If you are headed home over Memorial Day weekend, take some stuff with you.

Move out Deadline

You must check out of your room by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 11.

Failure to check out by the deadline will result in an improper checkout fee and other avoidable charges.

Late Checkout Request?

Contact your RD as soon as possible if you need to request a checkout after 4 p.m. on June 11.

Self-Checkout Instructions

Remember these five steps when checking out:

  1. Vacate and clean your share of the space.
  2. Turn in your keys using self-checkout envelope.
  3. Stop using your meal plan if you checkout before Saturday, June 5.
You may get a credit for unused meals.
  4. Redirect your postal mail and packages.

For more information visit Self-Checkout Instructions.

Dispose of Trash, Compost, Recyclables

Take out trash, recycling and compost. Please rinse out your compost bin and leave it in your room for our staff to collect in the summer.

Donate Unwanted Items

This spring the Residence Hall Reuse Program and the AS Recycling Center will be collaborating to collect unwanted items from students during move out. Donations of clean items in good condition can be dropped off in the appropriately labeled blue bins near each building's recycling depot starting May 25.

For more information on donations visit Residence Hall Reuse
