Hello,

We hope you are finding success in your online spring quarter. You are receiving this email because our records indicate that you are not living on campus, but you have possession of your building/room keys and your belongings remain in your room.

In previous communication, we stated the winter quarter checkout timeline was extended two weeks after Governor Inslee’s’ original end date for his stay-at-home order.

After Gov. Inslee’s recent extension to May 31, we now must draw a firm end date for all residents to return to campus, retrieve their belongings, and follow the Self-Checkout Instructions.

The last day to avoid additional charges and complete a self-checkout:  Sunday, June 14.

Please note: per the housing agreement, residents returning to checkout are not permitted to stay overnight in their winter quarter assignment since they are not active and not paying for spring quarter.

If you are unable to return to campus by June 14, please email ResLife@wwu.edu requesting move out assistance. Please note: There will be additional fees for packing, shipping and storage costs.

Please contact your roommates and/or suitemates to let them know your plan for arriving on campus and checking out so that you can safely check out while maintaining social distance.

BT and BW Residents: You may have new suitemates – check your housing portal and contact any current roommates/suitemates about your arrival and move out plans.

For more information on travel guidelines, please review the new phasing outlined in Safe Start Washington.

Staff will complete safety checks in your room this week and will follow standard protocol upon entry.

For additional questions about the move-out process, including information on how to maintain social distancing, during move-out please contact ResLife@wwu.edu.

Thank you for your cooperation as we navigate a successful move-out that is completed by the end of May.

Best,
University Residences
