Returning Bed Parts
Please leave your bed parts in your room. If you are capable of doing so, please return your bed to its original configuration.
For desk hours and hall information:
When reporting a maintenance issue, you are giving WWU staff permission to enter your room/apartment to provide service to repair/replace the reported issue. If you have questions or concerns, please refer to your Housing Agreement.
For routine repairs such as clogged sinks and toilets, burnt out light bulbs, broken blinds, leaky faucets, power outlets, light switches, heaters, etc., you must fill out a maintenance request in ReADY.

For custodial issues, please send an email to Housing-Facilities@wwu.edu.
If you suspect there might be a rodent, insect or animal infestation in your room/suite, please submit the issue in ReADY.
For emergency issues, such as sewage spills, gas, heat, water, or electrical issues, etc., contact your RA/AA, the RA/AA on call, or your community’s front desk, as soon as possible.
For larger, serious, and immediate dangers, contact the University Police Department (UPD) at 360-650-3555.

Broken doors and locks can pose as a safety issue for your community and your room. Report issues to Facilities Maintenance between 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. weekdays at 360-650-3420, or the Resident Advisor on call after hours.
University Residences is transitioning to “tool-free” beds. During this transition some bed configurations may not be available in your building. To view standard bed configurations in double rooms visit Explore the Buildings.
Please note: you can view the amount of storage space under your bed on your community page.
Requesting Bed Parts
Bed parts are available in the following communities: Birnam Wood, Mathes, Nash and SODA. You may request bed parts during the first two weeks of the quarter in the following areas:
- Alpha - RA 114
- Birnam Wood - Storage room inside apartment
- Delta - RD 413
- Mathes - MA 007
- Nash - NA 003
- Omega - RO 229
- Sigma - RS 114B
Please note: if your building is not listed, there are no available bed parts to check out.
If bed parts are not available, you can join a waitlist until bed parts become available.
We recommend bringing a ½" socket wrench if your bed setup requires additional parts. Please refer to the Bed Assembly Instructions located at your front desk.

Returning Bed Parts
If you checked out bed parts, please leave them in your room. UR Facilities will remove the bed parts for you. Please return your bed to its original configuration if you are capable of doing so.
If your furniture is broken, damaged, or you have any other inquiries, please email Housing-Facilities@wwu.edu.
Laundry or vending machine problems
If you experience a service issue or notice a broken Laundry or Vending Machine, check the machine for the posted support information.
If you are locked out of your apartment, hall, or room contact the appropriate person in your residential community.
If your mattress is extremely soiled or damaged, email Housing-Facilities@wwu.edu to request a replacement. Please include your full name, email address, student ID number, building name, room number, a description of the problem and a photo that shows the damage.
If you are missing your key or fob please report it to your community’s front desk immediately. Missing keys/fobs are a security risk to you and your community. Reissuing keys can cost over $300 depending on the number of doors and keys affected.
