Swipe Out Hunger

Update: Oct. 14 2020

Due to challenges related to COVID-19, the Swipe Out Hunger program has modified its services. For alternative resources, please visit COVID-19 Student Assistance.

Western is committed to assist students facing food insecurity on campus.

Swipe Out Hunger (SOH) allows students to donate their meal “swipes” to help students facing food insecurity.  Any meal “swipe” donated will directly benefit the purchase of food at this quarter’s weekly Pop-up Pantry taking place on Fridays (see below). Any meal plan holder can donate unused swipes to help Western students secure food on campus.

Donating Swipes

Anyone with a current meal plan can donate unused swipes. Donations are accepted through our online request form and at the front desk of any dining commons location.

  • Viking Commons (North Campus)
  • Fairhaven Commons (South Campus)

Please note: the last day to donate any meals to SOH is Monday, November 16.
