Fire Safety: Alarms, Drills and Equipment

  • Tampering with, disabling or damaging any fire safety apparatus, equipment or smoke detector is prohibited under RCW 43.44.110. This includes willfully and falsely activating a fire alarm. Such violations will likely result in eviction and referral to the University Police.

  • For the safety of everyone in the community, all residents are required to properly evacuate buildings when fire alarms sound (during actual fires and required fire drills). Individuals who do not evacuate will be subject to the conduct process.
