About

N Odessa Karwyn (she/any) is beginning her first academic year at WWU as a Care Specialist. She holds a B.A. in Classics and Physics from Colorado College, an M.Div. from Nashotah House Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Marquette University. Originally from Colorado, she has since barefooted through life acoss the world calling Wisconsin, Pakistan, and Washington home. Odessa has worked in a variety of roles – priest, pastor, professor, nonprofit director, and shelter staff – and is especially drawn to work at the intersection of spiritual care and community support. She has a special interest in how people find meaning and resilience in the midst of hardship, and how systems can be shaped to better hold people in times of transition. When not working, she can usually be found reading poetry, experimenting with new writing projects, or spending time with her two kids.
