About

Hello! My name is Kaeden Kersavage. I’m from Longview, Washington—a small city on the Columbia River, about an hour north of Portland if you take I-5. I’m currently a senior here at Western and have lived on campus for all four years of college. Over that time, I’ve gained a lot of experience and knowledge, so feel free to ask me any questions you might have about classes or campus life! I’m incredibly excited to be an RA this year and am looking forward to learning as much as I can from the experience. And want to create a comfortable environment for everybody! My major is Biochemistry, which is the study of the chemical substances and processes involved in life, and how they change during development and maturation specifically working closely with developing a deeper understanding of DNA and RNA to see how they impact life. I’ve worked on campus in the food markets, and I’ve also had the opportunity to work in a research lab studying the factor VIII liver protein. That research focused on understanding how the protein’s structure and chemical makeup affect its function in the body. In my free time, I enjoy backpacking in the forests and mountains of Washington and Oregon, spending time with friends, and playing video games. I have a wide range of interests and hobbies, and love meeting new people—so don’t hesitate to stop by and say hi or ask questions. I’m looking forward to getting to know you this year!
