Guests, please review emails sent to you from guest.housing@wwu.edu in addition to the information on this page.

Arrival Instructions

Prior to your visit, you will receive arrival instructions from WWU Guest Housing. Please follow the instructions in your email. Here is a general overview of the check-in process:

  1. Guests will check in at the community front desk of their building. If you need assistance locating the building, view the campus map.
  2. At check-in, guests will be given a set of keys and/or fob that gives access to their building & room. Guests are financially responsible for lost or damaged keys/fobs. Lost or damaged keys/fobs create a security risk and must be reported to the front desk immediately.

Desk Hours

Need assistance during your stay? Our community front desks will be staffed daily during the timeframes below.

BuildingDesk Hours
Buchanan Towers, Alma Clark Glass Hall2-7pm daily
Edens Hall, Nash Hall, Mathes Hall 2-5pm daily

Parking

Parking is done separately from Guest Housing operations. Transportation Services (transportation@wwu.edu) has different options for group parking, and they vary based on where guests want to park, summer vs. school year, and the size of the group.

We advise those coordinating with Transportation Services to also communicate what the rules are for the group reservation, as the Conference & Guest Housing staff do not oversee parking operations on campus.

Dining

A majority of our dining locations close during the summer. We typically have an open market and coffee stand available during the summer, and one dining commons (meals can be purchased upon entry with a debit or credit card). Dining availability is subject to change depending on a number of factors (staffing, construction, etc.).

For summer 2025, Ridgeway Commons will be open daily, and the Viking Union Coffeeshop & Market will be open on weekdays. For more information on open dining locations and hours of operation, visit Dine On Campus
