We hope you are enjoying your Winter Break!

Note: Sunday, January 3 is the first day for new, incoming residents to arrive and move in. So expect families and students in your building.

The information below will help you prepare for winter quarter, which is right around the corner.

Remember to check out all the upcoming events next week by logging into win.wwu.edu/events with your universal ID and password.

Schedule your mandatory COVID-19 test

As someone who has an on-campus presence this coming quarter, you have been given early priority to reserve your appointment for free COVID testing. Students living on campus are required to get tested within 24-48 hours of their winter quarter arrival.

Western’s COVID-19 testing clinic, Fraser Hall, will re-open Monday, Jan. 4. Space is limited! No walk-ins accepted. Appointments are first-come, first-served.

Make your online appointment now at studenthealth.wwu.edu/mywesternhealth.

Reach out to your suitemates

If you live in Fairhaven, Buchanan Towers, Edens Hall, Higginson, or Birnam Wood, you may be getting a new suitemate.

Please check your MyHousing Portal to see if you have a new suitemate arriving, and if so reach out and introduce yourself. Be sure the shared suite space is clean and welcoming.

Social Distancing Tip: while your new suitemate moves in, practice safe social distancing by staying in your room or going for a walk, while their families get them settled.

Room readiness and bed inspections through Saturday, Jan. 9

Facilities staff will continue on-going room readiness checks through Saturday, Jan. 9 between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Staff will follow University Residences standard protocol before entering your suite to prepare for incoming winter quarter students and to complete bed assembly inspections.

Please note: All staff wear required personal protective equipment while cleaning your space.

If you have questions please email URFacilities@wwu.edu or contact (360) 650-3556.

Housing has upgraded to a new device registration portal!

MyResTek allows users to easily connect gaming consoles and smart devices to the WWUwireless-Guest network. Users who connected their devices through the old system, will need to re-register those devices to the new portal by Jan. 15, 2021.
