Fall 2018: Early Arrival

Room assignments post to the MyHousing portal August 1 and September 1. Personalized arrival instructions post to the MyHousing portal August 15. All University Residences officially open for arrival on Sunday, September 23.

If you are involved in a program or activity or a campus job that requires you arrive early, your employer or program will provide early arrival instructions.

Students who would like to move in 1-2 days early can Register for Early Arrival and must pay a corresponding fee. Early arrival registration runs August 15 through September 21. Once you have registered for early arrival, check MyHousing for confirmation of your registration.

Please note that most campus services - including the dining halls, Residential Technology Services (ResTek), Wilson Library and the Rec Center, do not open until Sunday, September 23. For dining options visit CampusDish.

For questions about moving in early, contact Residence Life at ResLife@wwu.edu or call 360.650.2960 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Residential buildings officially open for arrival on Sunday, September 24; however, you may arrive sooner if one of the following situations applies:

  • We recommend you arrive early on a specific day to help us manage traffic congestion. If you choose to arrive on the day we recommend, you do not need to register for early arrival and you will not be charged the early arrival fee. Log into MyHousing after August 15 to check for early arrival recommendations.
  • If you are involved in a program or activity that requires you arrive early, your program will provide early arrival instructions.
  • If you are a student employee and your job requires you arrive early, your campus employer will provide early arrival instructions.
  • If you are coming from another state or country and would like to arrive early.
  • If you need to arrive early for personal reason.

Two options are available for arriving early and registration is required. Please note that in order to ensure a quality arrival experience, we are unable to accommodate requests to arrive sooner than the available options.
