Web Content Editor

The Web Content Editor works with University Residences staff to assure timely posting of accurate, consistent, and high quality content to the University Residences website.

Responsibilities include creating and maintaining web page content, maintaining online documentation, and assisting administrative staff members with web page related questions via email, phone, in person meetings and by appointment. Other duties are assigned based on experience and qualifications.

  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with computer technologies and willing to learn about new technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Awareness of W3C markup standards.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Must intend to enroll through the end of Spring 2010.

What else will help me?

  • Experience with web scripting languages.
  • Graphical design experience.
  • Advanced experience with W3C markup standards.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or equivalent image manipulation software.
  • Interest in maintaining and managing a moderate-to-large sized web site.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a console based environment (BSD, Linux, etc.).
  • On-campus residency (either current residency or in the past) is preferred but not required.

Terms

This position is designed to require 14 to 19 hours per week. Must be enrolled for 10 credits and maintain a 2.00 cumulative GPA. Hourly wage is $9.15 per hour (Computer Assistant III). Summer employment is available for up to 40 hours per week depending on qualifications and project priorities.
