The director of University Residences provides overall leadership and management direction for the Housing & Dining System including the creation and maintenance of living environments conducive to student learning and development within a diverse residential community of almost 4,000 students. The director develops recommendations regarding annual budgets and rates and the establishment of long and short range plans for the residential program, physical facilities and contracted university dining services.
The department is a comprehensive housing organization of five administrative functions: residence life/conference and guest housing, business and information systems, facilities, occupancy management and assessment and University Dining Services. Some 300 staff work in University Residences and another 650 in University Dining Services. The facilities include 15 residence halls, 2 apartment complexes (one owned and one leased), 3 residential dining commons, 7 retail food locations, and 3 markets totalling in excess of 1 million square feet of space.
