50th Anniversary

University Dining Celebrates 50 years on Campus!

September 2009 marked the 50 year anniversary of the partnership between Western Washington University and Sodexo Campus Services, which together provide University Dining Services. To commemorate this milestone, a celebration dinner was co-hosted by the University and Sodexo on Tuesday, September 15. The guest list included WWU leadership from the Administration and the Associated Students, as well as other distinguished members of the campus community and representatives from Sodexo Campus Services.

The menu, created and provided by University Catering, featured locally sourced items, including:

Starters Washington Apple, Watercress, Chevre & Lemon Vinaigrette served in a Cracker Tartlet Cup

Entrees Tenderloin of Beef & Fresh Wild Halibut, served with White Bean Cassoulet, Fresh Chopped Spinach & Tri Color Tomato

Dessert Our Signature Chocolate Martini served with Whatcom County Hazelnuts, Starbucks Coffee & Tazo Tea

Speakers included: Willy Hart, Director of University Residences; Ira Simon, Resident District Manager for Sodexo Campus Services at WWU; Eileen Coughlin, Vice President Student Affairs and Academic Support Services; WWU President Bruce Shepard; Alan Gessel, Region Vice President for Sodexo Campus Services and Tom Post, Sodexo Campus Services President.
