Sustainable Dinner

On Thursday, September 24, Dining Services will be hosting a Sustainable Theme Dinner in the three campus dining commons. The dinner, which will run from 5:00pm to 6:45pm will feature locally and sustainably grown food. The menu is expected to include the following:

Soup

  • Cream of Mushroom Soup - Ostrom Farms Mushrooms, Olympia, WA

Salads

  • Red Beet Salad (Vegan)
  • Organic Field Greens & Spinach - Earthbound Farms, Carmel Valley, CA
  • Cucumber Salad - with Sour Cream from Darigolds Pacific NW Dairy
  • Waldorf Salad - with Washington State Premier Apples

Entrees

  • Italian Chicken Cacciatore - Draper Valley Chicken, Mt. Vernon, WA
  • Seattle Field Roast Sunflower Cutlets (Vegan)
  • Vashon Island Organic Tofu-General Tso Style
  • Eggplant Parmesan
  • Oregon Natural Beef Cheeseburger with Tillamook Cheddar Cheese
  • Roasted Pumpkin Cream Sauce - with Pumpkins grown at Sterino Farms, Puyallup, WA

Pizza

  • Seattle Field Roast Chorizo & Pizza
  • Chicken, Leek & Alfredo Pizza - Draper Valley Chicken, Mt. Vernon, WA

Desserts

  • Sour Cream Brownies - with Sour Cream from Darigold’s Pacific NW Dairies
  • Old-fashioned Bread Pudding
  • Washington State Premier Apple Cobbler

Any Western Washington University students, faculty, staff or guests can attend the dinner by means of a Western meal plan, Munch Money, Dining Dollars, cash or credit card. The all inclusive price is $10.75, plus sales tax for cash and credit card payments.
