Dollars Munch

Dining Dollars and Munch Money are convenient ways of paying for anything bought in Western's Cafés and Markets or Resident Dining Commons. This includes Viking Union Market aés, Viking Commons, The Underground Coffeehouse, Miller Market, Tony's at Haggard Hall, The Atrium, Ridgeway Commons, Ridgeway Market, Fairhaven Commons, The Haven, Rock's Edge Café or BT (Buchanan Towers) Market.

Both Dining Dollars and Munch Money dollars are placed on individuals' accounts and are used with a simple swipe of the Western Card.

If you are on a meal plan, use your Dining Dollars first, then get Munch Money.

Dining Dollars

Dining Dollars come with all meal plans - $150 each quarter. They may be used to purchase food and amenities at any of Western Washington University's 13 Dining Services' locations. One Dining Dollar is the equivalent of one US Dollar. Dining Dollars expire at the end of Spring Quarter, are non-refundable, and cannot be bought without a meal plan.

Munch Money

Food Collage Munch Money gives customers great savings! University Dining Services offers 18.4% savings at the register whenever Munch Money is used for a purchase! This includes a 10% discount on prices plus exemption from 8.4% sales tax on all food purchases. (Non-food items are subject to sales tax.) Munch Money is easy, convenient, secure and incurs no fee.

Like Dining Dollars, Munch Money enables individuals w/ Western Cards to purchase items at any of University Dining Services on-campus locations. Munch Money differs from Dining Dollars in that the purchaser need not be on a meal plan. All students, faculty and staff can deposit money onto their Western Card to create a Munch Money account. Deposits can be made by contacting the Housing Cashier by telephone (360-650-3744) or in person (Edens Hall lobby), or in person at the University Cashier in Old Main 245. By telephone, payments can be made with a Visa or MasterCard. In-person, payments can be made by cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard.

An online system for making deposits into a Munch Money account is being developed and will eventually replace the phone-in option. Munch Money deposits can be made in any amount over $1.00, with the account accessible with a swipe of the card at registers. Munch Money never expires and is refundable upon written request when graduating or withdrawing from WWU.
